Third movement: Allegretto, duration of 2 minutes. Takes the form of minuet and trio in G major. Minuet has French meaning of tiny or small step of dance derived from a folk dance whilst Trio mean quiet and soft voices. Marked as sotto voce.
Minuet was danced in court and high society in all of France under the reign of louis xiv. It was then played during ball mainly Germany where it finally spread all over in Europe until 17th century when it was included into the art music.
